moledro
n. a feeling of resonant connection with an author or artist you’ll never meet, who may have lived centuries ago and thousands of miles away but can still get inside your head and leave behind morsels of their experience, like the little piles of stones left by hikers that mark a hidden path through unfamiliar territory.

Jess

the paintings

Jess was born Burgess Franklin Collins in Long Beach, California. He was drafted into the military and worked on the production of plutonium for the Manhattan Project. After his discharge in 1946, Jess worked at the Hanford Atomic Energy Project in Richland, Washington, and painted in his spare time, but his dismay at the threat of atomic weapons led him to abandon his scientific career and focus on his art. Rosy Keyser

Rosy is simultaneously kicking me in the pants, art-wise, and making me feel like what's the point.
I mean, "Yeah, Rosy, yeah! Right on."
I'm just having a moment of really encouraging jealously over here.

Will Barnet gets his first museum retrospective, here

His students included Cy Twombly, Tom Wesselmann and Eva Hesse. He once told Willem de Kooning to consider the structure and organization of his paintings. “It was the only the time he was ever challenged by anybody,” Barnet remembers.

Is it a feminine quality, this propensity to stain things?
To wash out, wash over?
